Meaning of Life from Jesus
Gives you and I Eternal Paradise

What's the meaning of life for you and I? Do we understand the meaning of life in a different way as we grow older? How does the God of Creation see the meaning of life for each of us?

9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created (Rev. 4:9–11, KJV).

Meaning of Life towards our God

We see the Omniscient God who lives forever in these verses. We see a God of Majesty who always was and always will be. The Sovereign God created and made everything we can touch, see, smell, and understand.

The cherubim cry holy, holy, holy, and give glory to God. The elders worship the Almighty God falling prostrate and giving praise to the Everlasting Majesty. They cast (ballo) their golden crowns toward the Throne, and they don’t even care where the crowns land.[i]

The elders pronounced … glory and honour and power to the Lord. They spoke praise, blessings, adoration, and gratitude to their awesome Creator. The elders held a privileged place in the meaning of life with their Lord. They thanked and praised him for his wonderful grace.

How I Feel About the Lord

In a small way, I understand what the elders and the cherubim felt at the Throne. When I pray and worship God, I often sense the presence of Jesus standing close to me.

I have felt the perfect Love and holiness of God. At times, all I could do was whisper, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Holy One.” Then say, “Glory, Glory to the Lamb, praise his Holy name.”

I have never seen Heaven, but when Jesus reveals his Love to me, I can only thank him in gratitude and praise. After an experience with the Lord, I often think about Heaven and the meaning of life. I look forward to going to that bright city and joining the other saints.

How can I explain the closeness of the Holy Spirit? I would prefer an experience with the Lord over any other experience the world has to offer. I’ve tried most of what the world has, but there’s nothing that can compare to the love and peace of Jesus. The meaning of life appears different when the Holy Spirit touches my spirit. God gives me assurance of his love and his ability to take care of any problems. He gives me peace that reaches from today through all eternity (John 14:27).

Meaning of Life on a Farm

I can see the Lord’s guidance and meaning through my life when I look back on it. I was born in 1943 at Sturgis, South Dakota. I lived on a farm and ranch in western South Dakota for the first twenty-one years of my life. I had loving parents and three brothers. It was a good place to grow from childhood into manhood.

I attended Sunday school and went to a Lutheran Church, until I was old enough to say, “I don’t want to go anymore.” I was typical of many young people, who have no interest in the church or God. I did not under the true meaning of life with Jesus.

In 1964, I married my beautiful wife, Linda, and we moved to Oregon. Soon, the Lord gave us two special children, Wanda and Lisa. For the past twenty-seven years, I have worked as a plumber in the Portland, Oregon, area.

My Meaning of Life was Money

I had many goals and desires when I was young. I wanted to make much money and accumulate many material possessions. For years, I worked overtime jobs so I could afford the lifestyle we chose. I enjoyed exciting hobbies. I rode dirt motorcycles in the beautiful Oregon hills. In the middle seventies, I learned how to fly and flew airplanes for several years.

We had many interests through the years. Some were good, and we still do them. Others were temporary, and we left them behind. I’ve experienced much over the years, and found that not everything gives fulfillment. I always searched for something, but that something always seemed to be missing.

meaning of life by the cross gives us life not death

Meaning of Life from Cross brings Life not Death

In 1975, at the age of 32, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Over the next few months, as I read the Bible and learned about God, the meaning of life began to make sense. The Holy Spirit gave witness to me. I knew that God was real: I knew that I would live with him forever. It is a comfort to know that when I die, I shall go to Heaven to be with my Lord.

I joined a Lutheran Church and studied the Bible: this helped me learn more about God. Over the years, I have found that the Faithful Witness always kept his promises. God fulfilled the meaning of life for me and gave me peace. He helped us through difficult times and troubles.

The Lord gave Linda and me happiness through the seventies, but I still felt something was missing. Through a series of events in my life, God called me into a deeper walk with him. Seven years after I was born again, God filled me with the Holy Spirit in 1982.
